Where did the year go and Give-A-Way
I started to look for a new job this time last year and after a little while did I find a job at a local Coffee Roastery. I work in the office taking orders, talking to customers etc. My day starts with checking overnight messages and emails, printing out online orders and shipping labels.
Next thing is to make sure all orders end up on the Roast Log, so the Roaster know what to roast for the day as all the coffee we sell is roasted to order, no coffee is sitting on the shelf waiting to be sold. We sell coffee from Costa Rica, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala to mention a few.
The green coffee beans come to us in big burlap bags and we receive coffee by the pallets every week.
The first thing you have to do before start to roast is to weigh the green coffee,
after that the beans go in to the roaster and roasted a specific time normally somewhere between 12 – 16 minutes,
after that the beans drops down
on to the cooling tray to cool down
before being baged and shipped out to the customer.
Hope you enjoyed my day at work!! Leave a comment and you will be entered to win a bag of freshly roasted coffee, the winner will be announced next Sunday September 5th. Good Luck!!!
