A couple of weekends ago did we go to Bakersfield, CA for the 17th Hot Rod Reunion, it was so much fun!!
We saw some awesome vintage Top Fuel Dragsters and nostalgic Funny Cars. The races were running the whole weekend and on Saturday evening over 60 nostalgic race cars cruised on the drag strip for the highlight, "The Cacklefest" drivers revving their engines, flames shooting and the nitro flowing……….how sweet can it be!!!
My personal highlight was to meet and talk to Gene Winfield, the legendary custom and hot rod builder. Gene is over 80, still building cars fulltime and racing on the salt lake……..what a fun weekend we had!

I love that picture of you with Gene Winfield. I bet you all had the best time ever. I can remember many of night at Maryland International Raceway and the sound of those awesome engines!

Sounds like you had a great weekend, good for you! Gene sure looks pretty good for 80. If that's what 80 looks like, I'm in (in the female version of course)

That looks like so much fun!! I would love to go to one of those!!! I used to live in Bristol and only went to one Nascar race but it was fun. I would love the hot rods! Thanks for sharing. Great pics.
